Adult Services

From helping adults regain independence in daily tasks to developing strategies to manage sensations and self-regulation, our team is dedicated to leveraging our developmental-focused, collaborative approach within each of the therapies that we practice.

Swallow Therapy

Helping people re-learn effective and safe swallowing behaviors.

Eating and swallowing are vital to a person’s quality of life and central to the work of Speech Therapy. GO Therapists provide tableside swallow evaluations and interventions to those with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia). Therapists guide neuromuscular re-education to address strength, range of motion, and coordination of the swallowing structures for cough- and choke-free swallowing.

Occupational Therapy

Helping people improve, maintain, and/or recover independence in their daily tasks for enhanced functionality and fulfillment.

A person’s “occupation” consists of their everyday activities which could include tasks at work, functions in the home, opportunities for problem solving, and social interactions. These can all be impacted for an adult due to an illness, accident, or a lifelong condition. GO Therapists provide evaluation and treatment for those who are inhibited in their ability to flourish in a given area.

Emotional Regulation Intervention

Helping people learn to self-regulate their emotions, behaviors, and arousal levels.

Our world is a busy and bustling one which can be dysregulating at times. Dysregulation can result in emotions feeling outsized for whatever may have triggered them. When effectively utilizing self-regulatory strategies, a person is able to achieve a more optimal state of arousal and well-being.

Sensory Processing Intervention

Helping people find strategies that make sensations more manageable.

At GO, we like to acknowledge our 8 senses: visual, auditory, smell, taste, touch, vestibular (head in space), proprioceptive (muscle and joint sensations), and interoceptive (sensations of internal organs). Some people experience over- or under-sensitivity to these various sensations which may inhibit their ability to fully participate in meaningful life roles, routines, and important daily activities. Through sensory integration therapy, GO Therapists seek to gradually improve the nervous system and its ability to respond to sensations and movement in a more “organized” way.

Physical Therapy

Helping people move and interact within their environment smoothly and confidently.

Physical Therapy makes everyday activities easier and focuses on regaining mobility, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and endurance in order for patients to be successful in their daily lives. GO Therapists assist with changing positions, standing, walking, going up and down stairs, returning to a sport, or reducing movement-based pains.

Oral Myofunctional Therapy

Helping people achieve greater comfort and function.

GO Therapists can tend to the oral structures (lips, tongue, jaw, cheeks and palate) and their impact on swallowing skills and oral rest posture addressing issues such as TMJ, tongue tie, head or neck tension, obstructive sleep apnea, difficulty breathing through nose, or frequent headaches. GO Therapists help a variety of muscles in your face seamlessly work together for the best function possible.

Speech Therapy

Helping people regain, maintain, and support communication skills.

Adults may face communication difficulties resulting from unfavorable voice production or articulation, or from altered cognition or declining memory. GO Therapists partner with you to reclaim, redefine, and modify your communication. Our holistic lens equips and empowers you to harness your strengths for an improved quality of life. Did you know GO Therapists can even assist with preserving personalized messages through therapy and handheld devices?
